ROH Skate Sharpening
The Radious of Hollow (ROH) grind is the standard sharpening you will receive at most retail stores & skate shops. There are many different types of (ROH) grinds available depending upon your skating style, weight & skill level. The most popular (ROH) grinds that we have customers asking for are 3/8", 1/2" & 5/8", however there are also grinds in between those & shallower grinds that some customers request. 3/8" is the deepest hollow and gives you the most grip on the ice, however because it is the deepest you sink further into the ice and you sacrifice speed & stamina for sharper cuts & shorter stops. The 5/8" grind is a flatter hollow for more speed & stamina however depending on your size and weight you may sacrifice your turning and stopping ability. The 1/2" hollow is our default grind if you do not specify a specific grind.
Tuuk or Blade Holder Replacement
The @ "Tuuk" by Bauer or the "Blade Holder" by CCM is the plastic piece the steel blade is attached to. We stock an extensive line of Tuuks & holders & can usually install a replacement within 24 hours to get you back on the ice & in the game. The cost of installation varies depending upon the cost of the part plus the per rivet labor charge of $2 & $1 for each steel or $2 for each copper rivet.
